CAPACITY BUILDING INITIATIVES & TRAINING PROGRAMS
We have practical/ hands-on flexible training modules on all renewable energy devices and accessories for installers, retailers and other interested parties that enable individual training tailored to our clients’ areas of interest. Our training program/course module is based on the UK’s Micro-generation Certification Scheme, which means after completion of the course, a UK government certification will be issued to the participants with authorization to work in UK. Our training packages are facilitated by both our local and international partners and consist of the following modules: Solar Cell PV Installers Training CourseThis course is intended for installers who have understanding of/experienced in domestic electrical installations, including electrical safety and safe working practices, domestic wiring regulations, circuit protection, cable routing, lighting and power circuits and electrical supplies. While the course can accommodate installers who do not yet have these competencies, they must be trained in these prior to working on the electrical installation of photovoltaic (PV) installations. At the end of the course, each delegate will receive a course workbook, an installer’s guide and a certificate showing the grade in their assessment. Local Government Renewable Energy Awareness Course This course is intended for local government officers who need to understand how the integration of renewable energy requirements into local planning can greatly improve the infrastructure for communities. Given that there are both unsuccessful examples as well as successful ones, local governments have a key role to play in intelligently specifying the requirements that developers need to adhere to, as well as inspecting the work in a way that guarantees the objectives have been met. This course is aimed at local government officers in charge of planning and community developments, who need to understand how renewable energy can provide infrastructure solutions that complement traditional power and water infrastructure, and in what circumstances these new solutions can be applied and technical know-how. Local government has an opportunity to drive forward economic growth, and hence tax revenues, through the encouragement of enabling technologies such as solar micro-generation.Understanding these will assist local government in formulating policy and building organizational capacity to encourage the private sector to contribute to the improvement of the economy, enhance the competitiveness of the locality and create jobs and growth. At the end of the course, each delegate will receive a course workbook, a two or more books on renewable energy infrastructure planning and a framed course certificate.Photovoltaic Systems for TechniciansThe course is aimed at technicians with electrical installation experience in domestic, commercial or industrial systems.  The course builds on their knowledge of electrical systems to give them essential knowledge on how to install, commission and maintain photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems. The course will cover both on-grid and off-grid systems, including hybrid generating systems (a mix of PV and generator) it’s based on the UK’s training requirements for the MCS Installers scheme. At the end of the course, participants can win new business and exploit the opportunities providedof the world’s most popular micro-generation technology.Designing Photovoltaic Systems. The course is aimed at engineers with electrical qualifications and experience in domestic, commercial or industrial electrical power and wiring systems.  The course builds on their knowledge of electrical systems to give them essential knowledge in how to design, specify, plan and troubleshoot PV power generation systems. The course will cover the design and specification of both on-grid and off-grid systems, including hybrid generating systems (a mix of PV and fuel generator), based on the UK’s training requirements for the MCS Installers scheme as well as, including a section on economics and financing.
